We began operating in the renewables segment in 2015, when our presence was focused initially in Italy and Kazakhstan. Following further acquisitions and corporate reorganizations, we have widely expanded our activities since then, allowing us to become one of Italy's leading operators of renewable power generation, and expanding our presence in Europe (France, Spain, Greece, United Kingdom and Norway), the United States and Australia.
We are investing both in the construction of new photovoltaics and wind power plants, and in the development of new projects; according to our projections, we expect to be able to meet the electricity needs of our entire customer base with renewable sources of energy from proprietary plants by 2040.
Objectives and projects
Over 11 GW¹of identified projects in our pipeline, of which 2.5 GW are projects in operation or under construction, and 3.7 GW are at a mature stage of development. The projects pipeline is currently diversified in terms of geographical spread and of conventional renewable technologies (solar, onshore and offshore wind) with higher exposure to the countries where we have a retail presence.

The majority of installed capacity is in countries where there is integration with our retail customer base.

Existing core capabilities
Our renewables team is made up of around 200 experienced professionals. We make the most of our in-house skills, including Eni core competences, for complex projects, such as offshore operations.
